Clinique Chubby Stick

I have gone many years of my life not worrying about makeup.  It happens when you work on a farm, the cows don't care what you look like and the sheep worry even less.  Then suddenly you have four kids and you don't have time to even shop for makeup let alone wear it.  However over the last few months I've been putting a bit of effort in, (maybe because I've hit 40 and I have a husband who is 12 years younger...!)  Anyway, I've never tried the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm's before so I decided to give one a go
The colour I purchased was 'Curvy Candy' (number 14).  It's a really pretty candy pink but comes out a lot less vibrant on the lips, which I like, remembering I'm sort of 'new' to makeup, and prefer a more natural look.  I also think my husband wouldn't recognise me if I suddenly had a face full of vibrant colour!
I find this glides on really well and I do love the crayon look of it!  I think it's cute!  I am a bit worried that my pre-schoolers are going to get a hold of it and use it on their colouring books...and at $36 it will be an awfully expensive drawing (eekkk), but hopefully they won't find it.  I also like the shade, a light pink, perfect for summer.
I know these aren't new, but they are to me.  Does anyone have a recommendation for another great colour in this range?

  1. I love lip pencils. I like how they're easy to use. Maybe you can get a darker shade of this. Hope you can visit my blog. Let me know what you think about it and if you wanna follow each other.

  2. I love how natural this looks on you and the hydrating formula sounds right up my street. I also hope your kids don't get their little hands on it (my little one has done that before and I was devastated) x

    1. Hi Alina, if it moisturises at the same time that would be great! Have to keep an eye on my 16 month old daughter...she's always getting into my makeup!

    1. No, I didn't think it would come out like this either! When it arrived in the mail I was freaking out a little as it wasn't cheap. But I have it on today and I'm really happy with it. x

  12. How crazy! I actually just wrote another comment about not having tried the Clinique Chubby Sticks and I think it was this color that caught my eye the most while looking through the swatches of another blogger. Your opening paragraph made me laugh! I can imagine working on a farm does not need makeup. And I do not mean this in a condescending manner (although when writing it's hard to decipher tone!!) but I'm glad to hear the opinion of the chubby sticks from someone who is less familiar with makeup, rather than a seasoned lipstick-smacker. You get a new perspective on the product! So thank you also, for that!
I certainly hope that the kiddies do NOT take to drawing with this "crayon".. Quite a scary thought to scribble with $36!!! Enjoy your new Clinique!!!

    MUCH Love!
